Cookie policy

The cookies we use on our website, what they do, how long they last and how to change your choices.

1. About this policy

This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on www.fidelity-energy.co.uk, what they do and how you can control them.

The website is run by Fidelity Energy Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (number 09258334). Our registered office is 90 Bartholomew Street, Newbury RG14 5EE, and we are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) under number ZA200079.

This policy sits alongside our Privacy policy, which explains how we handle personal data more generally.

2. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. Similar technologies, such as scripts that read information from your browser, work in much the same way, so this policy covers them too.

We use three types:

  • Strictly necessary cookies keep the site secure and remember your cookie choice. The site cannot work properly without them, so they are always on.
  • Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors use the site, so we can improve it. We only set them if you accept.
  • Marketing cookies let us recognise returning visitors and link website visits to enquiries and emails from us. We only set them if you accept.

Some cookies are set by us (first-party). Others are set by the services we use, such as Google and Salesforce (third-party).

3. Cookies we use

We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies, Google Analytics for analytics and Salesforce Account Engagement (Pardot) for marketing. Analytics and marketing cookies are only set if you accept them.

Strictly necessary (always on)

We serve Google's tag through our own web address. Before you choose, and if you decline, Google Analytics still measures visits, but without cookies. It cannot link those visits together or to you.

If you fill in a form or click a link in one of our emails, these cookies let us connect your website visits to your details in our Salesforce system. We use this to follow up on enquiries and to understand which content is useful.

4. Your choices

When you first visit, a cookie banner asks whether you accept analytics and marketing cookies. Until you choose, and if you decline, none are set. We remember your choice for 12 months if you accept and 6 months if you decline, then ask again.

You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. If you decline after accepting, we delete the Google Analytics and Pardot cookies on our site.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the site may not work and we cannot remember your choice.

Lawful basis. We rely on your consent for analytics and marketing cookies. We rely on our legitimate interests for strictly necessary cookies and for cookie-free analytics, which help us understand and improve the site.

5. Third parties that receive data
